Fizzbuzz’s First Stop Motion Movie Debuts on YouTube
Imagine this — you find yourself in the strange, dark place of town. Up ahead sits a lone mansion. Inside, the lights are on. They make the house appear like it has a pair of glowing eyes.
A thick fog wraps itself around you. The cold bites deep into your bones.
You venture up to the house ahead. It looks old and foreboding, but the promise of warmth and comfort is too hard to resist.
So you walk up the steps and reach for the door…little do you know, your night of terror has just begun.
And that’s how the story of “Mr. Grins’ Museum of Horrors” begins. What’s that, you ask?
“Mr. Grins’ Museum of Horror” is our first stop motion animation short film production and features a new line of pose-able toys (for your stop-motion animation movies) from global toy brand Zing. This latest line of Stikbot toys were launched into the market just last September, just in time for the spooky October-Halloween season and are aptly named Stikbot Monsters.
“Mr. Grins’ Museum of Horror” is especially dear to the Fizzbuzz team as it is the first (of many) stop-motion animation offerings from our dream team of animators Ling, Debbie, and Marvin.
The Fizzbuzz team built this movie from the ground up.
From storyboarding sessions:
Marvin creating concept art for the mansion…ooh, spooky!
More concept art for the mansion’s interiors
To building sets to scale:
Marvin building the set
To sculpting detailed set pieces:
To countless hours shooting scenes frame by frame:
To the long days of polishing the movie in post-production:
The end product is an inspired homage to the suspense and horror genre, while still keeping that childlike and fun quality that is inherent in the Stikbot brand. Fizzbuzz has successfully captured the mood and the atmosphere of classic horror for kids (and kids at heart) to enjoy.
Well, we’re not going to keep you any longer. We’ve waited just as long to see this plan into fruition, from paper to screen. And now that it’s finally here, we are delighted and happy to share this success with you.
So without further adieu, Fizzbuzz is proud to present “Mr. Grins’ Museum of Horrors”!
